Recycling activities and Crisp Packet Project
As part of our nursery environmentally friendly practice, the children have started recycling in lunch club, and we are going to be focusing on recycle and re-use throughout the term.
We would like you to join in our activities at home now also. The children will be bringing a recycling tick list home for you to complete and once you have recycled everything on the list, you will be able to return it and claim your Waste Warrior certificate. It would be lovely if you could send in pictures also of the children and yourselves joining in on this first activity with us. Email is fine and often easier for you and you can send them directly to myself to print here.
We are also collecting empty foil crisp packets for the Crisp Packet Project again throughout the whole of this year. Mrs Smith, Miss Shaw and the children would like to now invite you to also participate in bringing yours into Nursery. The foil crisp packets are used to create foil blankets and sleeping bags for the homeless and there will be a box on each door where you can deposit yours in the morning or afternoon at drop off and pick up.
It takes 75 packets to make 1 blanket and last year we were able to provide enough packets to make 4 blankets to keep someone warm. What a fantastic way of re-using our empty packets and supporting some of the most vulnerable people in the community. We are hoping we will do even better this year!
