Early Years Pupil Premium
Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)
At our nursery we are committed to giving every child the very best start in life. Some children may be eligible for additional funding called the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP). This is extra funding provided by the government to support your child’s early education and help close the gap between children from different backgrounds.
We use the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) evidence base to guide how this funding is spent. Research shows that high-quality early years education has the greatest impact when it is:
Focused on developing strong language, communication and early literacy skills
Delivered by highly skilled practitioners who create rich learning opportunities
Responsive to the needs and interests of each individual child
Our approach is always child-centred. This means we look carefully at each child’s unique strengths, needs and interests, and plan experiences that will help them flourish. EYPP funding is used to:
Provide targeted support where it will make the most difference to your child’s learning and development
Invest in staff training and resources that build high-quality interactions and teaching
Enhance opportunities for play, exploration and early language development
Strengthen partnerships with families, so that learning continues at home as well as in nursery
By using funding in this way, we can make sure every child – regardless of background – has the best possible chance to thrive and be ready for the next stage of their learning journey.
