Oaklands

Nursery

2 Year Old Room

Our 2 year old room provides places for children from when they are 2 years old until they start at the main nursery aged 3. It is run by Oaklands staff and operates every morning from 9.00am – 12.00pm.

The room is a purpose designed space with an outdoor area which the children have sole use of. The well-equipped room enables children to access all areas of learning through exciting and innovative resources and activities.

The outdoor area is used imaginatively by the staff to provide a wide range of learning opportunities.

The highly qualified and experienced staff plan exciting and innovative activities based on their thorough knowledge of the children’s stage of development and interests.

The children have a key worker who is the main person who cares for them, completes their assessment for learning and is your main point of contact for anything you want to know.

We observe children's innovation, their creativity, their ideas, their intents and feelings and we do this on their integrated review and half birthday in accordance with developmental milestones. We plan activities which enable children to take the next steps in their learning and reach their full potential. Information about children's progress is shared with parents.

There is an excellent transition process for children moving into the main nursery to ensure that children and their families feel confident and secure and that staff know the children well.
