• Recycling project

  You may recall us emailing at the beginning of the academic year to say the children had started recycling in lunch club, but specifically we were collecting empty foil crisp packets for the Crisp Packet Project. Miss Shaw and the children have been busy and have now sent 5384 crisp packets to create foil blankets and sleeping bags for the homeless. 

  It takes 75 packets to make 1 blanket, which means we have been able to provide over 71 blankets to keep someone warm. 

  What a fantastic way of re-using and recycling our waste and supporting some of the most vulnerable people in the community. 

  Well done Miss Shaw, the parents and the children - What a Team!

  

• Summer Leavers Disco (3 and 4 year old room only)

  This is an opportunity to let our hair down, enjoy some party games, dancing, drinks and ice creams will also be available. Please book a place with your key worker and there is a suggested donation of £3.50 if you can, which goes into the school funds for enrichment activities. Children are left with the staff for this party evening. 

  

• Summer Sing-a-long (3 and 4 year old room only)

  There is no need to book for this event and no limit to who attends, it's our final celebration altogether as Oaklands, staff, children & family. 

  

• Staffordshire's best nurseries

  We are delighted to be included in this list of best children's nurseries locally.  Although this report was from last year, we have recently had an Ofsted inspection and remain Outstanding, for the 4th time in a row!

  We are delighted to share with you the official OFSTED inspection report for Oaklands nursery that took place on 11^th May 2023. We continue to be outstanding and this is our 4^th consecutive outstanding judgement!

  Child Safety Week is the Child Accident Prevention Trust’s annual community education campaign, acting as a catalyst for thousands of safety conversations and activities UK-wide.

  They help families build confidence and skills in managing the real risks to children’s safety.

   

  This year’s theme: Safety Made Simple

  Accidents often happen when there’s a lot going on. So accident prevention needs to be simple.

  • Simple changes for parents to stop the scariest accidents.
  • Simple ways for practitioners to get involved even when under pressure.

  For families, the parent pack offers simple changes that can fit into busy routines.

• Father's Day workshop (3 and 4 year old room only)

  Please see attached our invitation to attend our Father's Day Den Building workshops, that are taking place in nursery, week commencing 12th June :- 

  Monday 12th June – pm only 1-2pm

  Tuesday 13th June – am and pm - 930-1030 or 1-2pm

  Wednesday 14th June – pm only 1-2pm

  Thursday 15th June am only 930-1030am

  Friday 16th June am only 930-1030am

   

  Please note, this can be any special gent in your child's life and the session lasts approximately 45mins.
